I love driving UTVs and this is why my website is filled with useful guides like how to drive an UTV or how does a kill switch work. While side by sides offer more safety and stability than an ATV, I can’t deny that storing UTV is a bit difficult. A UTV doesn’t fit everywhere and if you are planning to get an enclosed trailer, you need to make sure that it’s big enough.
UTVs don’t fit in regular enclosed trailers. The average 4-seat UTV size is 110-125 inches long and 60-inches wide which is a bit too large for an enclosed trailer. You can still fit a UTV in an enclosed trailer, but the wheels or bumper needs to be hanging over the edge. If you still have yet to purchase a trailer, I highly recommend choosing one that is not enclosed. While enclosed trailers can keep UTVs and ATVs safe from rain and debris, they limit you too much.
Buying a trailer is a great idea if you love riding ATVs and UTVs on trails. However, it’s important to purchase an enclosed trailer that works with the side by side you own or plan on buying.

Can You Put a Side by Side in an Enclosed Trailer?
Side by sides are known for being wider and longer than ATVs. This is what makes them safer than ATVs and dirt bikes. On the downside of things, UTVs don’t fit in most trailers, especially enclosed trailers. If you are crafty enough, you can still make the side by side fit in the trailer by hanging the bumper or the wheels over the edge. However, transporting the quad will be trickier than usual because you need to pay extra attention when taking turns.
Will 6×12 Enclosed Trailer Fit a Side by Side?
A side by side will fit into a 6×12 enclosed trailer. However, the UTV will fit in very tight and it’s not going to be easy to get it in there. You just need to make sure that the UTV you are trying to fit into the enclosed trailer fits the 6×12 measurements.
Will an ATV Fit in a 5×8 Enclosed Trailer?
No matter if the 5×8 trailer is enclosed or not, the size is more than enough to comfortably fit any ATVs. There will also be enough room to bring ATV accessories or gear like helmets, boots, and gloves. Just to give you an idea of how easy an ATV will fit into a 5×8 trailer, you should think that the trailer is big enough to hold a queen-size bed.
What Size Trailer Will a Polaris Ranger Fit On?
When buying a new trailer, it’s best to make sure that your ATV or UTV will fit on it. If you own a Polaris Ranger, you are in luck. Polaris created a long list that showcases the size and weight of its ATVs so that you can have an easier time finding the best trailer for your Ranger. Check it out below:

How Wide of a Trailer Do You Need for a Side by Side?
The average UTV width is 60-inches. Therefore, you will need to get a trailer that features a width of at least 60-inches if you want to haul a side by side. My advice is to go for something bigger if possible because you might want to carry something more than just your UTV. In addition, choosing a trailer with a double axle setup is ideal because it allows for extra weight.
