What is the Biggest Dirt Bike? (Also most powerful!)

Are you looking for the biggest dirt bike that money can get? Or are you just curious to see the top speed that a dirt bike’s engine can reach? If by the biggest dirt bike on the market you are referring to the engine cc and the top speed that it can reach, then you will love the MAICO 700 2-stroke.

The MAICO 700 2-stroke is one of the biggest dirt bikes ever made. The dirt bike is fueled by a massive 685cc engine that puts out 82 horsepower. While this might not seem like a lot in comparison with a vehicle or a race motorcycle, keep in mind that the MAICO 700 weighs in at only 111kg which makes the dirt bike super fast. The Kawasaki KLR 4-stroke 650 cc engine is also worth a mention because it reaches a top speed of 98 miles per hour.

Want to learn more about the legendary MAICO 700 and the performances that its 685cc reaches? Keep reading because I’ll explain everything. I will also talk about the biggest dirt bike in terms of dimensions.

What is the Biggest CC Dirt Bike?

Maico 700 dirt bike

The MAICO 700 2-stroke is hands down, the biggest cc dirt bike ever made. The dirt bike was developed by Frank White of ATK and it uses a massive 2-stroke engine that is powerful enough to be used on a car. What made the engine stand out, other than its 685cc, it’s the fact that it delivers 82 horsepower. This is super impressive for a dirt bike. To make things even better, the engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission system so that the rider can control the power output.

Since the MAICO 700 is the biggest dirt bike in terms of engine, let’s go ahead and also take a look at the measurements that it offers. The dirt bike has a seat height of 37.2 inch, a wheelbase of 58.5 inch, a ground clearance of 14 inches, and a fuel capacity of 1.6 gallons. Below you can find a YouTube video that shows off just how fierce the dirt bike sounds.

If you are thinking about buying or renting out the MAICO 700, I have some bad news to share. The dirt bike is no longer being manufactured. On the bright side of things, the Kawasaki KLR is a great choice. The bike ships with a 4-stroke 650cc engine that reaches 98 MPH. In addition, the starting price for the dirt bike is $6,499.

What is the Biggest Dirt Bike (Size)?

In terms of dimensions, the Suzuki RM-Z450 is the biggest dirt bike on the market. The Suzuki RM-Z450 measures in at 49.6 inch in height, 32.9 inch in width, and a whopping 85.6 inch in length. I also want to mention that the Suzuki RM-Z450 is fueled by a 449cc 4-stroke engine and that it has a starting price of $8,999.

Some other specifications that might interest you are a great throttle response that delivers high peak power, an improved traction management system to make it easier for the bike hook up, and Bridgestone X30 tires that offer excellent grip. Since this is a Suzuki we are talking about, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the dirt bike features a cool-looking design that looks aggressive. Due to the large dimensions, I don’t recommend the Suzuki RM-Z450 as a good choice for someone who is new to off-road adventures.

Talking about buying dirt bikes, I wrote a full guide that shows how to determine high mileage when buying a used dirt bike.

How Fast Can a 1000cc Dirt Bike Go?

Dirt bikes are not powered by 1000cc engines. In general, they use 450cc engines because speed is not a requirement on the dirt track. When riding off-road, it’s more important to have torque so that the dirt bike can go through mud, uphill, and all other obstacles that might pop up. However, racing motorcycles are equipped with 1000cc engines. They are usually limited to 188 mph by the manufacturer but if modified, a motorcycle with a 1000cc engine will go over 200 mph.

If we are talking about speed, the fastest bike in the world is the famous Dodge Tomahawk. The bike uses an 8.3 L V10 engine that looks out of this world. In fact, it seems like the Dodge Tomahawk is equipped with a jet engine since it’s so massive. Moreover, the 8.3 L V10 engine offers 500 horsepower and reaches 420 miles per hour. Obviously, this speed can only be reached when driving on a clean track by a professional rider. In case you are curious about the price, the Dodge Tomahawk has a price tag of $555,000. Yeah, it’s not cheap at all.

Final Words

If you are looking for the biggest dirt bike engine, the MAICO 700 2-stroke with its 650cc engine is exactly what you need. Sadly, the dirt bike is no longer available for purchase and if you want to get something similar, you will have to go with the Kawasaki KLR 4-stroke 650cc. Furthermore, the biggest dirt bike in terms of size is the Suzuki RM-Z450.
